The Artists-in-Schools (AIS) Program is a partnership between the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County, the Wake County Public School System, and area schools. The HES PTA knows that students excel when exposed to the arts and dedicates funding, with the help from UAC grants, to bring these programs to HES students. Art education projects underscore the critical role the arts play in the students’ development of creativity, overall well-being and academic achievement. The Artists-in-Schools program connects students with professional teaching artists and provides a unique opportunity for students to learn and create art with direct support from professional and working artists.

A special “Thank You” to the United Arts Council of Raleigh & Wake County for giving us $1,025 in grant money
to help offset the costs of our 2015-2016 Cultural Arts Programs
